She apologized for being late. Ella se disculpó por llegar tarde. Uso de verbos seguidos de gerundio.
They managed to finish on time. Lograron terminar a tiempo. Uso de ā€œmanage toā€ para logros con esfuerzo.
I’d rather stay home than go out tonight. PreferirĆ­a quedarme en casa que salir esta noche. Uso de ā€œI’d ratherā€ para expresar preferencias.
Could you tell me where the nearest pharmacy is? ¿Podrías decirme dónde estÔ la farmacia mÔs cercana? Pregunta indirecta, mÔs formal y educada.
